The Power of Leverage

“The minute you involve others in your vision, the minute your desire impact others, all your personal power factors will benefit from the multiplier effect. This is real leverage. it is obvious that, when you alone hold a visioin, you speak with one small voice. When you recruit others to the cause, you speak with a high fidelity, mega-watt sound system.”
Darby V. Checketts

Leverage is Power. The day and time when it was just the few that could harness the power of leverage has come to an end. Leverage is the ability to do more with less effort to achieve more. The ability to leverage the resources at your disposal has become critical to your personal and professional success. This is one skill that you have to acquire and consistently maintain, in order to achieve your expectations. Your success is no longer predicated solely on your personal knowledge and expertise but your ability to leverage other people’s knowledge, wisdom, money, relationships and time.

Benjamin Franklin once said: “There are two ways to acquire wisdom; you can either buy it or borrow it. By buying it, you pay full price in terms of time and cost to learn the lessons you need to learn. By borrowing it, you go to those men and women who have already paid the price to learn the lessons and get their wisdom from them.” With our world becoming a global village the extent to which you can now leverage the resources that abound in the earth is almost unlimited. You can now build an international business from your living room leveraging the power of the Internet, time and resources of people in other far countries.

We see the power of leverage in almost every aspect of our personal and professional lives. It is imperative that you understand that there are some things you may not have the capabilities, knowledge or the time to accomplish them. In order to succeed, you need to leverage the capabilities, knowledge and time of other people to achieve success. A very practical example can be seen as President-elect Barack Obama introduces his Economic Leadership Team, that’s some heavy-duty power of leverage as he taps these astute economic minds of our time.

Success today, largely depends on the results that you obtain from the leverage of other people doing things that are not your best areas of productivity and your highest return activities, which, is vital to your success. This is simply your ability to leverage the time, knowledge and information provided by other individuals. This concept enables you to do less and output more and this is not just in terms of money but time, relationships, opportunities and freedom to do what you are passionate about.

The question you ought to be asking in order to really maximize the power of leverage is this; is there one thing that you are doing that is bringing you inadequate outcome that could be enhanced with the help of someone else?  For instance, you are attempting to self publish a book and promote it yourself, what could be the impact on the final outcome if you enlisted the help of others to promote the book for you? By enlisting the help of others, you can enlarge your reach and take the burden of doing it all by yourself off your shoulders.

The power of leverage can also be seen in many examples of our daily lives.  For instance, we hire people to build our websites, to write our sales letters, to cut our grass, clean our homes, etc.  We run a company and hire virtual assistants to take work off ourselves. As this year comes to an end, examine every aspect of your life where you can use the power of leverage.

The Law of Compensation By: Brian Tracy

You Get What You Give

Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his essay, “Compensation,” wrote that each person is compensated in like manner for that which he or she has contributed. The Law of Compensation is another restatement of the Law of Sowing and Reaping. It says that you will always be compensated for your efforts and for your contribution, whatever it is, however much or however little.

Increase Your Value

This Law of Compensation also says that you can never be compensated in the long term for more than you put in. The income you earn today is your compensation for what you have done in the past. If you want to increase your compensation, you must increase the value of your contribution.

Fill Your Mind With Success

Your mental attitude, your feelings of happiness and satisfaction, are also the result of the things that you have put into your own mind. If you fill your own mind with thoughts, visions and ideas of success, happiness and optimism, you will be compensated by those positive experiences in your daily activities.

Do More Than You’re Paid For

Another corollary of the Law of Sowing and Reaping is what is sometimes called the, “Law of Overcompensation.” This law says that great success comes from those who always make it a habit to put in more than they take out. They do more than they are paid for. They are always looking for opportunities to exceed expectations. And because they are always overcompensating, they are always being over rewarded with the esteem of their employers and customers and with the financial rewards that go along with their personal success.

Provide the Causes, Enjoy The Effects

One of your main responsibilities in life is to align yourself and your activities with Law of Cause and Effect (and its corollaries), accepting that it is an inexorable law that always works, whether anyone is looking or not. Your job is to institute the causes that are consistent with the effects that you want to enjoy in your life. When you do, you will realize and enjoy the rewards you desire.

Action Exercises

Here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into action.

First, remind yourself regularly that your rewards will always be in direct proportion to your service to others. How could you increase the value of your services to your customers today?

Second, look for ways to go the extra mile, to use the Law of Overcompensation in everything you do. This is the great secret of success.

Developing the Mindset of a Champion

Developing the mindset of a champion. What is the striking difference between champions and non-champions? The answer is simple. It is their mindset; the way champions think separates them from the rest. With the past and present programming of failure and defeat it has become apparent to deprogram and reprogram your mindset for success and extraordinary achievement. However, the mindset of a champion cannot be developed overnight. There are series of events that leads to that state of mind. Anyone can actually develop a champion’s mindset and become a champion in their personal and professional endeavors. This is not something reserved for the elite but for anyone that is determined to undergo the process and commit to the developments of a champion’s mindset.

Please, understand that you do not necessarily have to be an Olympian with a gold medal or a world renowned heavy weight boxing champion but you can become a champion nonetheless when you confront and dethrone the giants in your life that militate against your personal and professional success. When you set goals and embark on achieving them, when you are able to do what you do in the face of insumountable challenges, when you become what the naysayer think you are unlikely to become you are a CHAMPION. When defeat and discouragements were imminent but believed in what was possible you are a CHAMPION. You believe in your own abilities to make it happen and refuse to allow your prevailing reality determine your tomorrow you are a CHAMPION. In spite of the odds against you, you came out an outstanding success you are a CHAMPION.

So what is a mindset and how is a mindset developed? What makes you possess a mindset that produces amazing success every time you attempt something? Well, let us examine a number of things that comes to mind.

What is a mindset? The America Heritage® Dictionary defines mindset as “A fixed metal attitude or disposition that predetermines a person’s responses to and interpretations of situations. (2) An inclination or habit.

Here are three critical ingredients to developing a champion’s mindset:

Commitment to the disciplines: If you are going to develop the mindset of a champion you’ve got to commit to the disciplines required to make it happen. For instance you have to learn the disciplines of staying focus, goal setting, passion, perseverance, self-motivation and taking action.

Exercise your mind by putting it to use: Champions are thinkers they put their minds to work. Stop allow other people or situations think for you. You will never strengthen the muscles of your mind this way. It is just like you going to the gym to exercise and build up your muscles just exactly what you should be doing to your mind by putting it to work. The more you use it the more it develops.

Associate with the champions: Another important factor in developing a champion’s mindset is to associate with other champions. And you will learn to partake of their breakfast. Their ways of thinking, their belief systems, habits, passions and actions start to rub off on you. When you fly with the eagles very soon you will learn to fly like them. In the same light if you hang with the turkeys they will rob on you. If you must develop a champion’s mindset associate with them

Finale

To succeed in any enterprise you’ve got to start thinking like a champion, staying focus like a champion, inspiring yourself from within like a champion, action oriented like a champion and finally not quitting like a champion because champions never quits and quitters never become champions. Remember you are the champion of your success. Go expand your horizon and I’ll see you at the top.

The ABC of Success

“Success is the result of action directed toward a desire goal connected to any of the tripartite aspects of the human nature.” Richard Onebamoi

A for Action:

Napoleon Hill said, “Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.” The action you are taking right now determines the measure of success that you will ultimately bring into your life. Whatever it is you want to achieve taking action is a foundational key to your success and it is one single factor that separates the high achievers from everyone else creating unparalleled success. You may have the best intentions, business plans, or goal strategies unless all these are translated into action nothing meaningful will be achieved.

B for Belief:

Your beliefs can empower or restrain you from the success that you envision in different aspects of your life. As a matter of fact even if you have goals and action oriented, self-limiting beliefs can sabotage your success. You have to believe in the possibilities that abound in the earth and the resources at your disposal. In order to be successful at anything for that matter you have to have faith in God and your ability to bring to manifestation your intent. The power of belief is a function of the mind if you believe it’s possible it’s possible while on the other side of the coin if you believe it’s impossible it’s impossible. Napoleon Hill observed, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. The Bible states, “All things are possible to him that believes.”

C for Consistency:

Consistency is a virtue to cultivate in order to be productive and proactive in spite of the challenges on your success journey. It is the ability to stay on the task day after day repeating the same procedure until the objective is attained. This suffices to say that you have to always follow through on your actions to achieve success. For instance, a man pulled down a brick wall with consistent hammering. It is important to understand that it is not the first blow that brought the brick crumbling down but the consistent and cumulative impact of the blow. If you are going to achieve any meaningful success you must be consistent at what you are doing to make it happen.

The ‘ABC of Success’ could set you on the path to achieving massive results in your life, so take action today and incorporate the ‘abc of success’ into you daily routine and I will see you at the top.
