I thought I should inform you that I had the privilege to be interviewed by Shawn McCastle earlier on this week on peopleized. Shawn McCastle is a minister, talk show host and blogger. He is the publisher of Shawn McCastle’s World of Psychology and Host the Shawn McCastle Show. Success Power Points: The Ability to Communicate a Key to Success

What is communication: This is the process through which people send information to others and receive information from them. This simply implies that communication is all about conveying understandable messages to others as well as receiving feedback from others. It is imperative to understand that communication is not a one-way process but a sending and receiving of information. Have you heard the phrase communication breakdown? What this simply means is that the thoughts and ideas conveyed were not understood and as a result inappropriate feedback was sent by the listener. This of course will inevitably create roadblocks that will have a negative influence on your goals both personally and professionally.

Communication and your ultimate success are inextricably connected. Therefore, developing and honing your communication skills is a basic ingredient for your personal and professional success. This is invaluable irrespective of the size of your business whether a large corporation, a small company, a home-based business, or even family relationship effective communication skills are essential for success. Without proper communication people will not know exactly what is expected of them. For instance, waiters taking orders from their customers and passing it on to the chef, or coaches telling their teams how to play to win or parents leaving instructions for their children. The vital process to successfully attempt these tasks is communication.

You have to communicate everything you possibly can to all that are involved in the process of achieving your objectives. Being able to translate and express your thoughts and images into words that can be understood by your listener is crucial in achieving long lasting success. Communication is a success power point that you cannot afford to overlook as you spend your waking hours relentlessly in the pursuit of your personal and professional success.
